Our next Couch 2 5k will start on Monday 2nd September 2024 led by UK Athletics Qualified Coach In Running Fitness.
It will run for 8 weeks and we will finish with our optional final 5k at Stormont Parkrun.

There will be coach led sessions on Monday & Wednesday at 930am.​
The 8 week block is £30.

My Running Story
Like going to the gym, running always works better when there is structured training. I was a casual runner for a number of years but never maintained any continuous training.

In 2023 I set myself the goal of completing the 2024 Paris Marathon, after a few runs here and there I knew that if I wanted to progress further I needed to up my game so I joined Scrabo Striders. Having the support and dedication of the coaches and the structured training I quickly noticed improvements and completed the Ards Half Marathon in June in a time of 2:03 which was a massive achievement, I then went on to complete Dublin Marathon in October 2023 in 4:15.

I also started back to Parkrun, the free weekly 5k run with locations across the world. This is a great event that is open to all abilities, you can run, jog or walk at Parkrun. Running provides so many health benefits which is why, after completing my coaching qualifications I started the Dundonald Runs Couch 2 5k with the goal of getting more people into running.
